Michael Ellery’s Background

When Mr. Ellery graduated from the University of Arizona in 1987 with his bachelor’s degree, he worked as an insurance adjuster. In fact, he worked for two of the biggest insurance companies in the nation before becoming a lawyer – an experience that would later give him a unique insider’s view into insurance companies’ practices.

In 1995, Mr. Ellery earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Widener University School of Law. For more than 15 years, he would handle both plaintiff work – on behalf of the people bringing a legal claim – and defense work, on behalf of the people being sued.

In March 2008 Mr. Ellery began representing plaintiffs exclusively.

Mr. Ellery’s Work With Our Firm

In 2011, Mr. Ellery brought his experience to our firm. In just seven years, he personally has recovered more than $20 million dollars for the clients he represented.

His firsthand knowledge of the insurance industry and his history of defense work have proven to be valuable assets to our firm.

Because Mr. Ellery knows how insurance companies operate and the tactics their defense attorneys use to delay, deny, and attempt to decrease the value of claims.

He knows how to thwart these efforts to ensure our clients from getting the money they deserve. He does not permit insurance adjusters and defense attorneys to stoop to deceptive tricks, which helps him get his clients their settlements.

Why Michael Chose Personal Injury Law

What prompted Mr. Ellery to switch from defending insurance companies to representing injured plaintiffs? Like his colleagues at our firm, he found that he much preferred helping people over defending the insurance companies and corporations whose primary concern is their own profits.

After being an insurance adjuster out of college, and then a mixture of defense and plaintiff work for years, focusing on plaintiff personal injury cases was a “natural progression.”

“It’s way more satisfying to have a direct impact on people’s lives and to work with regular people, rather than working for insurance companies. Doing well for our clients – individuals injured in accidents – is a better place to be, in my opinion.” – Attorney Michael E. Ellery
