On or around June 11, 2023, Coastal Orthopedics detected suspicious activity within portions of its computer network. The company launched an investigation and confirmed that there was unauthorized access to its network, likely occurring between June 6, 2023 and June 11, 2023. It was later determined that some of the files that were accessible to the unauthorized party contained confidential patient information. Coastal Orthopedics & Sports Medicine of Southwest Florida will send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
