July 10 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the HealthEquity data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The HealthEquity data breach resulted in the sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened?

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the HealthEquity data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. It was detected when unusual activity was detected by a personal device belonging to one of HealthEquity’s business partners prompting HealthEquity to isolate the device and launch an investigation. It was determined that the Partner’s account was compromised by an unauthorized actor, who used the device to access confidential information belonging to certain consumers. HealthEquity sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
