When founder Richard P. Console Jr. opened this firm more than 25 years ago, he wanted to help his friends, families, and neighbors by fighting for their interests against insurance companies who only cared about their bottom line.
Since 1994, he,s helped thousands of clients get their lives back on track. He and the other attorneys at Console and Associates P.C. live their commitment to giving back to their community every day.
Richard Console Jr, our firm’s founder, is a South Jersey native. He grew up less than 10 miles from our office in Haddonfield, NJ. While he left the state to get his bachelor’s degree, he only went across the river to Villanova. After graduating with honors, he enrolled at Rutgers University where he graduated Cum Laude with his Juris Doctor.
Shortly after he began practicing law, Mr. Console opened his practice in Mount Laurel. In the 25 years that followed, the firm moved several times until finally moving to Holtec Drive in 2018. As the founder of our firm
Today, Richard Console Jr. lives with his wife and two sons in nearby Cherry Hill, just minutes from our office. When he’s not helping his clients, Mr. Console enjoys reading, cycling, and playing basketball with his sons.
Like our founder, Lindsay Sewekow grew up in South Jersey. Originally from nearby Medford Lakes, Ms. Sewekow attended Caldwell University where she made the Dean’s list three times before graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 2012. After getting her degree in psychology, Ms. Sewekow went on to graduate Cum Laude with her Juris Doctor from Widener University in 2015.
It was during her time at Widener University that Lindsay Sewekow first joined our firm as a summer intern in 2013. During this time, she worked as a pre-litigation assistant, paralegal, and intake specialist, where she learned about our company culture and values. After graduation, Lindsay Sewekow briefly moved out to California where she worked as a law clerk while waiting to hear the results of her bar exam.
In 2017, she joined Console and Associates, P.C. as our investigative attorney. In this role, she is the initial person to work on a client’s file after they sign with our firm. Her commitment to excellence has helped her recover more than one million dollars in 2018, her first full year in this role.
Michael Ellery joined Console and Associates in 2011 as one of our dedicated personal injury attorneys. When he graduated from the University of Arizona in 1987, Mr. Ellery’s first job was as an insurance adjuster. He worked for a major insurance company where he learned how they viewed claims differently, giving him a unique perspective on how the system works.
In 1995, he earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University and for the next 15 years, he handled cases as both an attorney for the defended as well as on behalf of clients filing a claim. Over time, Mr. Ellery started handling more personal injury claims until he decided to focus on them exclusively beginning in 2008.
In addition to practicing with our firm, Mr. Ellery offers his services to other attorneys hoping to settle disputes through arbitration and mediation. In fact, for the past several years, Mr. Ellery has been a Judge Pro Tempore in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, helping claims settle without the need for a costly trial.
Since joining our firm, Michael Ellery helped his clients, recovering more than $20 Million in damages for their cases.
Today, Mr. Ellery lives with his wife and children in Haddonfield, NJ. He recently celebrated becoming a grandfather when his oldest son welcomed his first child into the world. When he’s not practicing law, Mr. Ellery enjoys spending time with his family, reading, physical fitness, and watching his children play sports.
After your injury, you want things to get better. You have the right to file a claim against the party that caused your accident, but trying to understand the law on your own is confusing and frustrating. All you want to do is get your life back on track, but you don’t know where to begin.
With 25 years of experience in personal injury, studying the law is all we do. As our client, and as our neighbor, you can trust that we are in your corner. Always.

There’s no way to know whether you have a strong personal injury case without speaking with an attorney. Many factors go into each claim, and your case has its nuances that strengthen or weaken your argument.
That being said, three primary factors go into a personal injury claim:
While these three criteria might seem basic, proving them in a claim can be difficult. It helps to have a Marlton attorney on your side who can navigate the legal process and make sure you are compensated for the other party’s carelessness.
Your accident took a real toll on your mental and physical health, and that is difficult to put a dollar value on. Pain and suffering is the legal definition for these intangible damages. Your attorney will propose a pain and suffering amount that your insurance company will either agree to or counter. Our attorneys understand that the impact your injuries had on your life is more than what your medical bills can show. We will fight
People often ask why they need a personal injury attorney and wonder if they can represent themselves in mediation or court without one. Countless people every year decline representation and work to handle their cases pro se, or for themselves.
But filing a successful personal injury claim requires understanding what your rights are under New Jersey and federal law. The insurance company you’re submitting the complaint against has a team of attorneys whose sole job is to keep you from winning your claim. They know the law better than almost anyone. Finding the information you need to resolve your complaint is possible, but it’s not easy.
A personal injury attorney like those at Console and Associates have years of experience studying and navigating the law. We work within the court system every day, giving us insight into how to recover your damages. Just like you would rely on an expert to conduct brain surgery or fly a plane, trust a professional to help you navigate this complex legal system. We take care of your claim so you can focus on what’s important: getting better.
On average, people working with a personal injury attorney received a settlement that is 3.5x larger (Insurance Research Council “Attorney involvement in auto injury claims,” 2014) than if they had filed a claim on their own. That’s more money you can use to get the treatment you need, make up lost wages, or help you manage your pain and suffering. When you’re filing a claim on your own or with an inexperienced attorney, the insurance company might try to pressure you into settling for less than what you need. We don’t let that happen.
Our attorneys work on a contingency fee basis, which means we are not paid by the hour. Instead, we receive a percentage of your court settlement, but only if you win. We understand that our clients are already struggling with their medical bills, so we are on your side. A contingency fee aligns our goals with yours; we want to get you the most money possible for your case. We won’t brush you off or make you feel less important like an attorney who requires an hourly fee would. Once we successfully resolve your claim, we’ll take a percentage of your settlement as our fee. If we cannot resolve your claim, you don’t owe us anything, and we’ll cover all court costs. Period.
Yes, you can settle a personal injury claim without an attorney. However, you have to ask yourself if it is worth the effort and if you can get the best payout possible.
If you are working with your insurance company or a private corporation to receive compensation for an accident, then you may be able to work with these entities individually. However, the goal of insurance companies, private businesses, and even individual homeowners is to pay you the smallest amount possible. They don,t have your best interests in mind and are only focused on the funds. Even your own insurance company might pressure you for a quick settlement, not because it’s in your best interest but because it’s in theirs.
Hiring an attorney increases your knowledge base and gives you an ally to help you get the compensation you deserve. Your attorney knows how to work with insurance companies and can draft a settlement plan that makes sure you are fully covered. When companies and private parties ignore your calls, they have the legal power to get their attention. Plus, with your attorney doing the work, you can focus on recovery and returning your life to normal.
Every case is different. Some claims will reach mediation and settle within a few weeks, while other cases take more than a year before they’re completed.
In general, the more extensive your injuries and treatment, the longer the process can take since insurance companies will want to avoid paying for your damages. While we’ll always try and settle your claim quickly, we’ll take the insurance company to court if that’s what it takes to get you the settlement you deserve.
If you want to move your case forward quickly, contact a personal injury attorney shortly after the accident. The sooner you start the process, the sooner it can wrap up.
As your law firm, we represent you on a contingency fee basis and only get paid after we resolve your claim. This means that we receive a portion of the settlement. However, we don,t accept our fee until after all liens are paid.
When you’re seriously injured, you don’t have time to wait for your claim to settle before you seek treatment. Instead, your insurance can cover these costs. However, when you resolve your claim, the at-fault party’s insurance compensates you for those medical costs. If you receive a settlement for the bills your insurance company paid, they may place a lien on your settlement to get that money back. Medical liens are always paid first.
In some cases, we’re able to negotiate with your insurance company to reduce their lien. This ensures that you get as much of your settlement as possible.
If you have medical bills that you have to pay after your settlement, these are typically paid after your claim is disbursed and we receive our payment. However, we work with our clients to negotiate these bills whenever possible.
As you look for a South Jersey attorney, it’s important to ask them how they,ll handle your disbursement. At our firm, your well-being is always our top priority because you deserve nothing less.
