October 2 – The API Financial Solutions (“API”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The API Financial Solutions data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers and financial account information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 71,886 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, API Financial Solutions reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. API recently learned of a potential data security incident that the company believes occurred on June 28, 2023. The company immediately launched an investigation into the incident and confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed—and possibly acquired—files containing confidential consumer information. On September 29, 2023, API Financial Solutions sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
