August 4 – The Aven Financial, Inc. data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Aven Financial, Inc. data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and addresses of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Texas, Aven Financial, Inc. reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On July 17, 2023, a security researcher informed Aven that he was able to access “an internal, in-development storage system containing personal information, through a temporary vulnerability in that system.” The researcher was not a hacker and was informing Aven so that it could cure the vulnerability. Within 45 minutes of learning about the vulnerability, Aven eliminated any future risk of unauthorized access. Aven claims that it was able to confirm that the security researcher was the only one to access the information. On July 31, 2023, Aven Financial, Inc. sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
