According to the Attorney General of Maine, the CellNetix Pathology and Laboratories data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On December 10, 2023, the company learned that an unauthorized party may have gained access to its computer network. CellNetix shut off its network and launched an investigation confirming that an unauthorized party had gained access to its network, including to files that contained confidential information. On January 8, 2024, CellNetix Pathology and Laboratories sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
