July 13 – The Choice Hotels International, the parent company of Radisson Hotels Americas data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. At this time it is unclear what data types and how many people were affected by the breach.
According to a news source, Choice Hotels or Radisson Hotels Americas reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. On July 10, 2023, a spokesperson for Choice Hotels confirmed that the MOVEit file transfer vulnerability resulted in certain Radisson hotel guests’ personal information being compromised.
Evidently, Radisson was informed by its vendor that hackers exploited the MOVEit vulnerability, a software created by Progress Software. They were able to gain access to “a limited number of guest records.” but the investigation is still ongoing. Choice Hotels or Radisson Hotels Americas will send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
