November 24 – The AutoZone, Inc. data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The AutoZone data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 184,995 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, AutoZone reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. AutoZone uses the MOVEit secure file transfer application, created by Progress Software. The company learned that an unauthorized third party exploited the MOVEit and removed data from an AutoZone system that supports the MOVEit application. AutoZone launched an investigation that confirmed that the unauthorized party was able to access certain files containing confidential consumer information. On November 21, 2023, AutoZone sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
