November 3 – The Hilb Group Operating Company, LLC (“Hilb”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Hilb Group data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 81,539 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Hilb Group reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On or around January 10, 2023, Hilb detected suspicious activity within an employee’s email account. The company secured the affected email accounts and launched an investigation confirming that an unauthorized party was able to access several employee email accounts between December 1, 2022 and January 12, 2023. On October 9, 2023, Hilb Group sent out data 
breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
