It is believed to have impacted as many as 212,193 Indiana Medicaid members.

What Happened As A Result Of The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration Data Breach?

According to a notice posted on their website, Indiana Family and Social Services Administration reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. CareSource manages the benefit plans for some Indiana Medicaid recipients and also uses the MOVEit file transfer program created by Progress Software. On May 31, 2023, MOVEit was hacked. Immediately after, CareSource patched its instance of MOVEit and launched an investigation to determine what, if any, consumer information was compromised. On September 1, 2023, Indiana Family and Social Services Administration sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
