September 8 – The Janssen CarePath data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Janssen CarePath data breach resulted in the names, contact information, dates of birth, health insurance information, and information about medications and associated conditions of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a press release, Janssen CarePath reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. IBM provides certain services to Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Inc., Janssen’s parent company. IBM manages both the application and the third-party database that supports Janssen CarePath. Janssen determined that there was a way for unauthorized actors to access the CarePath database. The company notified IBM, and then, with the database provider’s assistance, IBM remediated the issue. IBM launched an investigation and confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to gain access to the CarePath database. IBM or Janssen CarePath will send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Janssen is a pharmaceutical company based in Beerse, Belgium which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development, which has since been renamed Janssen Research and Development.
