June 16 – The Johns Hopkins University data breach is being investigated by the data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. The data breach was reported after the company was affected by a third party cybersecurity attack at Progress Software. It is still unclear what data types were compromised and how many individuals were affected by the third party data breach at Johns Hopkins University.
According to a notice posted on the company’s website, Johns Hopkins University reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On May 31, 2023, Johns Hopkins learned of a sophisticated cybersecurity attack targeting a vulnerability in the MOVEit software provided by Progress Software. As a result, Johns Hopkins University secured their system and launched an investigation that is still ongoing. Johns Hopkins University will send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach once this has been determined.
