What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Vermont, the Lexington Medical Center data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On October 4, 2023, an unauthorized party gained access to an employee’s email account prompting the company to contain the incident and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed the employee email account. On January 18, 2024, after conducting further investigation, Lexington Medical Center learned that certain patient information was accessible through the breached email account. On February 14, 2024, Lexington Medical Center sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
