January 11 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the Liberty Hospital data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Liberty Hospital data breach may have resulted in the sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a notice posted on their website, the Liberty Hospital data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The hospital detected a disruption to its computer network on December 19, 2023. This prompted them to take their computer network offline and launch an investigation. Liberty Hospital also transferred patients needing higher levels of care to other area hospitals. The investigation is still ongoing and according to the most recent update on December 29, 2023, the hospital is continuing to make progress to bring its systems online. If Liberty Hospital confirms patient data was compromised, they will be required to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Liberty Hospital is a non-profit hospital located in Liberty, Missouri that also provides care through a network of 22 urgent care centers, primary care providers, physical therapy centers, specialty 
clinics, and breast cancer centers. Some of Liberty Hospital’s facilities include Advanced Spine & Brain Center, Orthopaedics with MU Health Care Physicians, Norterre Therapy Services, Primary Care Excelsior Springs Clinic, Primary Care Kearney Clinic, Primary Care Liberty Clinic and Primary Care Plattsburg Clinic.
