September 7 – The Minneapolis Public Schools data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Minneapolis Public Schools data breach resulted in the names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account numbers, state student numbers, medical/health information, and health insurance information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 105,000 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Minneapolis Public Schools reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On February 18, 2023, MPS detected suspicious activity within its computer network. The company reported the incident to law enforcement and launched an investigation. The MPS investigation confirmed that an unauthorized actor had access to certain MPS computer systems between February 6, 2023, and February 18, 2023. It was later determined that some of the files that were accessible to the unauthorized party contained confidential information belonging to certain individuals. On September 5, 2023, Minneapolis Public Schools sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
