June 16 – The Mondelēz Global LLC data breach is being investigated by the data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. The data breach was reported after the company was affected by a third party cybersecurity attack at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (“Bryan Cave”). The Mondelēz Global LLC data breach resulted in the Social Security numbers, first and last names, addresses, dates of birth, marital status, genders, employee identification numbers, and Mondelēz retirement and thrift plan information of certain employees being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 51,110 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Mondelēz Global LLC reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Bryan Cave. Mondelēz retained the services of the Bryan Cave law firm to provide legal advice and as a result, giving them personal information about Mondelēz employees. An unauthorized party was able to gain access to confidential files containing Mondelēz employee information between February 23, 2023 and March 1, 2023. Bryan Cave then informed Mondelēz of the incident on March 24, 2023. On June 15, 2023, Mondelēz Global LLC sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
