December 17 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the Prospect Medical Holdings data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack. The Prospect Medical Holdings data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of California, Prospect Medical Holdings reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The company and its subsidiaries provide administrative services for healthcare providers that contract with Humana.

On September 29, 2023, Prospect Medical notified Humana of the data security incident. Prospect Medical identified suspicious activity within its IT network on August 1, 2023. The company took steps to contain the incident and launched an investigation confirming that one or more unauthorized parties were able to access the company’s computer network between July 31, 2023 and August 3, 2023. It was also determined that the unauthorized parties accessed and acquired confidential Humana patient information. On December 13, 2023, Prospect Medical Holdings sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
