September 1 – The ACSO of Texas, L.P. d/b/a Advance America data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Advance America data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and other government-issued ID numbers of certain individuals being compromised.
According to their filings with several state Attorney General offices, Advance America reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On February 7, 2023, Advance America experienced a temporary outage affecting its computer network. In response, the company launched an investigation and confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access and possibly acquire information from the company’s computer network. It was later determined that some of these files contained confidential consumer information. On September 1, 2023, Advance America sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
