July 20 – The Alfa Laval data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at The Vitality Group. The Alfa Laval data breach resulted in the confidential information of certain Alfa Laval employees being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, Alfa Laval reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at The Vitality Group. Vitality provides employee-wellness services to Alfa Laval which requires them to provide Vitality with certain confidential information about its employees. Vitality uses the MOVEit file-transfer software created by Progress Software, LLC which experienced a critical vulnerability that allowed hackers to access information stored on its client’s MOVEit servers. This vulnerability was discovered by Progress Software on May 31, 2023. On July 19, 2023, the Vitality Group sent out data breach letters on behalf of Alfa Laval to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
