August 25 – The IEC Group doing business as AmeriBen data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The AmeriBen data breach resulted in the names, health insurance information and medical information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Texas, AmeriBen reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. AmeriBen recently learned of a potential data security incident. The company launched an investigation, confirming that an unauthorized actor was able to access confidential information belonging to certain patients. However, based on a review of the available information, it is unclear whether the incident involved AmeriBen’s IT network or that of one of AmeriBen’s third-party vendors. On August 23, 2023, AmeriBen sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
