According to a HIPAA Journal article, the American Clinical Solutions data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Hackers claim to have accessed the company’s computer network, obtaining over 700GB of data. While ACS has not yet confirmed the data breach, the hackers added the company to their leak site. They claim that the data consists of more than 400,000 medical records of patients who had testing performed at ACS facilities. American Clinical Solutions will need to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach once it is confirmed.
