February 23 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Aquent data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Prospect Medical Holdings. The Aquent data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • names,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • addresses,

  • lab results,
  • medications, and other treatment information,
  • health insurance information,
  • dates of treatment,
  • and financial information

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, the Aquent data breach was reported after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Prospect Medical Holdings who provide administrative services to CIGNA on behalf of Aquent. On August 1, 2023, the company identified unusual activity within its computer network taking steps to contain the incident and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access Prospect Medical’s computer network between July 31, 2023 and August 3, 2023 accessing and acquiring files containing confidential information belonging to members of certain CIGNA health plans. On September 29, 2023, Prospect notified CIGNA about the breach. On January 31, 2024, Prospect Medical Holdings sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
