June 7 – The Ascension data breach is being investigated by the data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. The data breach was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cybersecurity attack. The Ascension data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and insurance information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a notice posted on their website, Ascension reported a data breach after they were notified by Vertex on March 2, 2023, a third party vendor, that Vertex was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. An unauthorized party gained access to Vertex’s network and were able to access files with confidential information. On June 6, 2023, Ascension stated in their notice that they sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
