January 22 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the Ashford, Inc. (“Ashford”) data breach that the company reported on January 19th. While the number of affected consumers is not yet public knowledge, the company offered identity protection services to victims in its data breach letter.
According to Ashford’s filing with the Attorney General of California, an unauthorized actor managed to access sensitive data on September 7, 2023. The company became aware of the attack on September 20th, at which point the Ashford data breach investigation began. By November 8th, the investigation revealed that customers’ sensitive information had been compromised by the attack.
On January 19th, 2024, Ashford sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Ashford is a Dallas, Texas-based alternative asset management company with a portfolio of businesses that provide a variety of services in the real estate and hospitality services. These include global asset management and investment management, among other services. Two real estate investment trusts rely on Ashford for advisory services. Ashford, Inc. is a publicly traded company under the symbol “AINC” and has more than 5,536 employees, as well as an annual revenue of over $900 million.
