August 1 – The Aurora National Life Assurance Company data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Aurora National Life Assurance Company data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 48,487 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Aurora National Life Assurance Company reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On June 28, 2023, Aurora was notified about a data security incident by a third-party vendor. Aurora investigated the incident and determined that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential data that consumers had provided to Aurora. The period of unauthorized access was between May 29, 2023 and May 30, 2023. On July 21, 2023, Aurora National Life Assurance Company sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
