According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Bank of America data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack at Infosys McCamish Systems. On November 3, 2023, Infosys learned that it was targeted in a cyberattack, resulting in portions of their systems being inaccessible. The company launched an investigation and informed Bank of America on November 24, 2023, that data concerning certain deferred compensation plans serviced by Bank of America may have been affected. On February 6, 2024, Bank of America sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
