March 28 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Barings LLC data breach that was reported by the Newport Group after Infosys McCamish Systems, one of the company’s vendors, was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Barings data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:
According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Barings data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack that was discovered on October 29, 2023, when Infosys McCamish was the target of a cyberattack. An unauthorized party was able to access the company’s computer network, which may have included information belonging to Barings plan participants and their beneficiaries. Infosys McCamish is a service provider that Newport uses to process transactions related to Barings deferred compensation plans. On March 25, 2024, Newport Group sent out data breach letters to Barings’ individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Newport Group, Inc. is a financial services company based out of Walnut Creek, California that provides record keeping, plan administration, trust and custody, consulting, fiduciary consulting, and insurance products and services.
Infosys McCamish Systems LLC is a life insurance and retirement services company based in Atlanta, Georgia. Infosys McCamish is a subsidiary of Infosys BPO Ltd, the Business Process Outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys Limited.
Barings LLC is a financial services and investment management company based out of Charlotte, North Carolina that was created in 2016 when four affiliated firms, all previously under the MassMutual umbrella, merged to create the company.
