Barracuda Networks, Inc. Data Breach Alert

May 28 – Barracuda Networks, Inc. (“Barracuda”) reported a data breach as a result of a zero-day vulnerability after the company was targeted in a recent cybersecurity attack. As a result of the breach, unauthorized access to a subset of email gateway appliances was discovered.

What Happened and What Information Was Involved?

According to a notice posted on the Barracuda Networks website, the company identified a vulnerability in their Email Security Gateway appliance (ESG) on May 19, 2023. A security patch was applied to eliminate the vulnerability and an investigation was immediately started. Barracuda began notifying those users who they believe were impacted.
