According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, the Benefit Management Corporation data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cybersecurity attack. The Benefit Management Corp data breach investigation revealed that an unauthorized party accessed Benefit Management’s IT network from September 8-11, 2023.
By February 15, 2024, the company had completed its investigation and confirmed the scope of the breach. The number affected is not public, but the breach has compromised data from some of Osaic Wealth’s customers, including names, Social Security numbers, and financial account information.
On March 29, 2024, Benefit Management Corp sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Benefit Management Corporation is a Lincoln, Nebraska-based financial services company that offers services such as wealth management, business planning, and employee benefits. Benefit Management Corp. registers for securities sales through Osaic Wealth, an Arizona-based network of independent wealth management firms.
