September 6 – The Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, medical information, health insurance information, usernames and passwords, financial account information, and driver’s license numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 242,000 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On March 5, 2023, Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists learned that it was the victim of a cyberattack. The company secured its network and then launched an investigation which confirmed that there was unauthorized access to certain computer systems between February 3, 2023, and March 5, 2023. It was also determined that the unauthorized party was able to remove some of this data on March 4, 2023. On September 1, 2023, Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
