August 29 – The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona data breach resulted in the names, member IDs, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security Numbers, and banking information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 47,485 individuals.
According to a notice posted on their website, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. TMG Health is an unrelated company that provides data services to assist AZ Blue with enrollment-related files. On June 21, 2023, TMG Health determined that it was the victim of a cyberattack. In response, TMG Health secured its systems and launched an investigation into the incident. TMG Health concluded that confidential information belonging to AZ Blue customers was accessible and possibly downloaded by an unauthorized party. On August 17, 2023, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
