What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Builders Mutual Insurance Company data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On December 14, 2022, Builders Mutual detected suspicious activity within its computer network prompting them to launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential consumer information stored on its network between December 14, 2022 and December 15, 2023. On December 28, 2023, Builders Mutual Insurance Company sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
