December 20 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the Capital Health data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack.
According to a notice posted on their website, Capital Health reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The company recently experienced a network outage due to what the company “believe[s] to be a cybersecurity incident.” Capital Health informed law enforcement and launched an investigation which is still ongoing. The company’s focus appears to be on preventing or eliminating unauthorized access while bringing its computer servers back online. Capital Health estimates that its systems may be down for several more days. However, Capital Health will be required to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach once they determine what information was affected.
Capital Health is a healthcare system headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey that operates two hospitals, Regional Medical Center in Trenton and Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell. In addition, Capital Health is an outpatient facility in Hamilton, NJ, and several primary and specialty care practices across New Jersey.
