On August 16, 2023, the company detected unusual activity within the CareTree platform and launched an investigation that determined that an unauthorized party gained access to the CareTree platform. Also, certain confidential information stored within the platform was accessed on July 21, 2023. On December 11, 2023, CareTree sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
CareTree, Inc. is a software company based out of Chicago, Illinois that provides care management and patient advocate software for care providers. CareTree also developed an online collaboration platform designed to improve caregiver operations as well as caregivers’ ability to communicate with families of nursing home residents.
