May 5 – Carvin Software, LLC reported a data breach to the Maine Attorney General on May 2, 2023, after discovering that a third party had stolen customer records from the company’s server. According to the company’s report, the breach led to the exposure of consumers’ names, financial account numbers, and Social Security numbers. What Happened? On March 9, 2023, Carvin Software identified unusual activity on certain systems within our computer network. On March 27, 2023, the investigation determined that certain files were copied from our network without authorization between February 22, 2023, and March 9, 2023. Carvin Software then undertook a comprehensive review of the files in order to determine what specific information was present in those files and to whom that information related. This review was completed on March 29, 2023. We then worked to notify you and provide information and services to assist you in protecting your data.
