February 16 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the CGM, Inc. data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. It is believed to have impacted as many as 315,346 individuals. The CGM data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • names,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • financial account information,
  • health insurance information,
  • addresses,
  • dates of birth,
  • and driver’s license numbers

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, the CGM data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The company provides solutions to wireless and broadband companies that participate in the federal Affordable Connectivity Program and Lifeline Program. On December 28, 2022, CGM detected unusual activity within its computer network prompting them to secure its systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access its computer network between December 15, 2022 and December 28, 2022. On February 15, 2024, CGM sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
