August 29 – The CLEAResult data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The CLEAResult data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers and financial account numbers of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, CLEAResult reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The incident reportedly involved information that CLEAResult collects and maintains as an administrator. However, the incident does not appear to have affected CLEAResult’s computer system, meaning this was likely a third-party data breach. Often, third-party breaches involve vendors used by companies to perform certain services. After learning that sensitive consumer data was accessible to an unauthorized party, CLEAResult reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. On August 23, 2023, CLEAResult sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
