July 5 – The Clearwater Credit Union (“Clearwater”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. The Clearwater Credit Union data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 25,660 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Clearwater Credit Union reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. On June 14, 2023, Clearwater learned that one of the company’s vendors uses the MOVEit software. Confidential customer information provided to the vendor was the victim of unauthorized access. It is believed that the incident started on May 30, 2023 and ended the next day. On June 30, 2023, Clearwater Credit Union sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
