According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Coleman Health Services data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On December 14, 2023, the company learned that an unauthorized party was able to access several employee email accounts. This prompted Coleman to launch an investigation that confirmed that the unauthorized party was able to access certain employee email accounts between September 18, 2023 and October 31, 2023. The company was able to determine that certain confidential information was present within the email accounts and possibly accessed without authorization. On February 12, 2024, Coleman Health Services sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
