July 1 – The CommerceV3 (“CV3)” data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The CommerceV3 data breach resulted in the names and payment card information, including card numbers, CVV codes, and expiration dates of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 9,328 individuals or more.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, CommerceV3 reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Recently, John & Kira’s and Smithfield Specialty Foods each filed a notice of data breach after learning about an incident that occurred at CommerceV3. CV3 provides various web-hosting services. On June 7, 2023, CommerceV3 informed Smithfield that an unauthorized party was able to gain access to certain data from the company’s computer system. They launched an investigation and were able to determine that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential information about Smithfield customers who made purchases on smithfieldmarketplace.com and thepeanutshop.com between November 24, 2021 and December 14, 2022. On June 29, 2023, Smithfield sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
John & Kira was notified of the incident by CommerceV3 on June 12, 2023, and the breach affected customers who made purchases between November 24, 2021, and July 1, 2022. On June 15, 2023, John & Kira sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
