May 25 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating a data breach reported by Populus Financial Group, Inc. on May 23, 2023.

What Happened and What Information Was Involved?

According to the Maine Attorney General, Populus Financial Group, Inc. reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. They conducted an investigation and confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access data that had been entrusted to the company between the dates of March 9, 2023 and March 10, 2023.

As a result of the breach, the name and financial account information of as many as 51,000 individuals may have been compromised.

Populus Financial Group, Inc. sent out data breach notification letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
