February 23, 2022 – Recently, Thybar Corporation announced the company’s computer systems were the target of a cyberattack resulting in certain consumer information being compromised. Those impacted by a data breach should be sure they understand what happened, what their rights are, and how they can pursue them. The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are actively investigating this security breach. As a part of the investigative process, our attorneys will be interviewing any victims of the breach to determine what harm was caused and whether they are eligible to bring a data breach class action lawsuit against Thybar Corporation.
According to a letter to affected consumers, Thybar Corp. noticed suspicious activity on the company’s computer network on October 4, 2021. In response, Thybar launched an internal investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity specialists, confirming that unauthorized parties gained access to certain parts of the company’s network. The period during which the unauthorized parties had access to Thybar Corp. servers was between August 20, 2021 and October 5, 2021. The information that may have been accessed by the unauthorized parties includes affected individuals’ names, addresses, and Social Security numbers.
On November 12, 2021, Thybar Corporation began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was contained in the affected files. However, at that time the company’s investigation was still ongoing. Subsequently, Thybar discovered that other individuals were impacted by the breach and, on February 22, 2022, the company sent out another round of data breach notifications to everyone impacted by the breach.
