November 7 – The (AlohaCare + any acronym [AlohaCare aka “XYZ”]) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The AlohaCare data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, addresses and dates of birth of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 12,982 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, AlohaCare reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On May 31, 2023, AlohaCare learned that it was impacted by a cybersecurity incident involving MOVEit, a file-transfer application created by Progress Software. On May 31, 2023, Progress Software announced a critical vulnerability within the MOVEit program which allowed unauthorized actors to access companies’ MOVEit servers, including AlohaCare. On November 3, 
2023, AlohaCare sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
AlohaCare is a non-profit health plan which operates out of Honolulu, Hawaii that provides coverage to 65,000 Medicaid and Medicaid/Medicare dual-eligible health plan members living on Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii Island. AlohaCare is the third-largest health plan in Hawaii.
