November 15 – The Bank of Canton data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Bank of Canton data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers and account numbers of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, Bank of Canton reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On August 3, 2023, one of the Bank of Canton’s vendors informed the Bank of Canton of a data breach involving the MOVEit file-transfer application. The vendor explained that the breach stemmed from a period of unauthorized access to the company’s MOVEit server on approximately May 27, 2023. On October 23, 2023, Bank of Canton sent out data 
breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
The Bank of Canton is a financial institution based in Canton, Massachusetts that offers its customers traditional banking services, such as personal and business checking and savings accounts, credit cards, personal and auto loans, investment products, and more. The Bank of Canton operates four branches in Massachusetts, as well as a mortgage center in Auburn, Massachusetts.
