Booking.com Data Breach 2023

November 14 – The Booking.com data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Booking.com data breach resulted in the credit card information of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened?

According to a news article, Booking.com reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The attack began when a hacker pretending to be a traveler sent an email to various hotels. A hotel employee clicked on a malicious link contained in the email, and the hotel’s computer became infected with a virus which allowed hackers to obtain hotels’ IDs and passwords for Booking.com. Hackers were able to send fake emails to travelers explaining they needed travelers to enter their credit card information into a fake Booking.com site, where hackers were able to obtain travelers’ credit card information. Booking.com only recently confirmed the phishing attack, and the company is still in the process of investigating the impact of the attack. Once Booking.com Data Breach Alertcompletes its investigation, it will be required to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
