CoinFlip Data Breach 2023

October 26 – The GPD Holdings, LLC d/b/a CoinFlip data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The CoinFlip data breach resulted in the names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and other government-issued identification numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 36,646 individuals.

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, CoinFlip reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On August 7, 2023, CoinFlip was the target of a social engineering attack focused on gaining access to an employee’s email account. The company contained the incident and launched an investigation which confirmed that an unauthorized party was Data Breach Alertable to access its IT systems and removed certain data. On October 20, 2023, CoinFlip sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
