November 20 – The Gerber Life Insurance data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Medical Eye Services, Inc. (MESVision). The Gerber Life Insurance data breach resulted in the names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, subscriber IDs, policy numbers, group numbers and claim numbers of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of California, Gerber Life Insurance reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Medical Eye Services, Inc. (MESVision). MESVision uses the MOVEit file-transfer program which was created by Progress Software. On August 23, 2023, MESVision learned that an unauthorized party had exploited a vulnerability within MOVEit, which allowed them to access information on MESVision’s MOVEit server. The company took its MOVEit server offline and launched an investigation that confirmed that the unauthorized party accessed and acquired Gerber Life customers’ confidential information from the server on May 28, 2023 and May 31, 2023. On November 15, 2023, Gerber Life Insurance sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
