Homeland Data Breach 2023

November 16 – The Homeland, Inc. data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company may have been targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Homeland data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, phone numbers and more data of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened?

According to a DataBreaches.net article, Homeland reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent ransomware attack. The ransomware group Hunters International claimed to have breached Homeland’s computer systems on October 26, 2023. Hunters International posted a sample of the stolen data, which included tenants’ personal information, including their dates of birth, addresses, annual incomes, and other details about their rent. The ransomware group also claims to have stolen 450,000 to 500,000 Social Security numbers belonging to tenants and their family members, and wage information pertaining to approximately 180 Homeland employees. Homeland has not yet confirmed the ransomware attack but if they do, they will be required to send out data Data Breach Alertbreach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
