November 25 – The International Paper Company Group Health and Welfare Plan (“IP Plan”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The International Paper Company Group Health and Welfare Plan data breach resulted in the sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 78,692 individuals.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, International Paper Company Group Health and Welfare Plan reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Information on the breach is still limited but the incident involved unauthorized access to confidential information that had been provided to the Plan. The plan launched an investigation to review the compromised files and determine what data was affected. On November 14, 2023, International Paper Company Group Health and Welfare Plan sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose 
information was affected by the breach.

The Plan was established in 1992 and provides retirement, death, and disability benefits to eligible employees. The plan is managed by the executive management team of International Paper.
